An enduring presence in American nature photography for the past twenty years, George Ward's images have been widely featured in national publications, including many appearances in the Sierra Club and Audubon Society calendars. Magazine credits include Sierra, Newsweek, Outside, Backpacker, Outdoor Photographer, Nature's Best, Smithsonian and Sunset. His work has also appeared in numerous books showcasing the natural history of the West, and his art prints are part of many private and corporate collections.

Created mostly with a
4x5 view camera, George's photographs showcase the untamed, quiet beauty of regions still relatively primeval. His first memories of art and nature trace back to early childhood and the astonishing work of John James Audubon. These early influences still inspire his creative process today. Combining this lifelong fascination with nature and the art of photography, George works to convey the energy and sense of renewal that contact with wild places brings.
